What this research covers

Our 2026-09-21 snapshot contains 768 public listings across 50 states. We collected business names, locations, service categories, ratings, review counts, and links from public Fresha pages. Each directory record carries its source and research date.

This is a single-platform sample, not a census of US beauty businesses. Availability on Fresha and the pages researched influence which businesses appear. District of Columbia coverage is missing. A location with fewer records is not necessarily a location with fewer or lower-quality businesses.

How ratings and ordering work

The default filter selects ratings of at least 4.8 with 100 or more reviews. 539 records meet both criteria. Sorting by highest rating compares stars first, then review counts, then names. Visitors can change filters and sorting.

These are browsing rules, not measures of professional competence or an endorsement. Ratings belong to their source platform and may have changed since collection. We do not republish review text, create reviews, or treat a listing as proof of licensing, insurance, or a relationship with our marketplace.

Our editorial standard

• Guides distinguish directory findings from general planning suggestions and link to sources for externally supported claims.
• AI assistance is disclosed. We do not invent professional authors, personal visits, customer experiences, or expert endorsements.
• New local guides require useful local evidence. A city name substituted into a generic page is not sufficient.
• Drafts are excluded from public article routes and sitemaps. Technical validation supports editorial review; it does not replace source checking.
• Our current guides cover comparison and booking logistics. We do not present them as medical advice or clinically reviewed treatment guidance.

Coverage that needs more work

20 state pages currently have fewer than five researched listings. We keep those pages out of search indexing until they offer broader coverage. This is our editorial threshold, not a Google requirement.

If a business name, location, service, or source link is wrong, send a correction inquiry with the business name and the detail to check. Do not include customer information. Requests are saved for team review; submitting one does not immediately change the public directory.
